Basketball Player Formula For Success

1.  To compete with players who want to play college ball there is no time off.
Basketball has to be played year round to be an exceptional players.
If you can’t play college ball for the many reasons, become the best player you can be.
    Basketball players who are not working or their game year round will lose the skills rapidly.

  1. Shooting percentage drop offs
  2. Stamina or wind is decreased.
  3. Muscle Memory is decreased.
  4. The Basketball player becomes out of shape.

 

2.  It is true, other sports can help with a keeping a basketball player in shape; However playing basketball will keep you in basketball shape, and you can improve on your weaknesses.   The Offseason is a good time to get more muscle on your frame, and improve strength. Strength improves performance. You as a player need to be in the weight room to get stronger.

3. Here are some suggestions to improve play.

a. Ball Handling  - Should be able to use both hands to dribble, and can go in both directions.
b.  Shooting Form- Get with a trainer to help you with your form and shooting mechanics.
c. Foot Speed and Foot Work
d.   Rebounding
e.  Play against the best players; this type of play will make you a more complete player.

3. Basketball is played year round with breaks for players through out offseason.
Here the events:

Spring Basketball – Starts End of March – May
Summer Basketball- June – July,
The NCAA viewing is July.
Fall Ball – September – October
Regular Season - November – March.
